The Next Generation Electronic Medical Record (NGEMR) is one of the three major healthcare programmes that Singapore has embarked on to transform care delivery in Singapore. It is an advanced centralised electronic medical record system that provides a single patient record across institutions of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) and the National University Health System (NUHS) to enhance care management and delivery.
As of July 2024, NGEMR has completed its implementation in 37 healthcare institutions, including key partners of NHG and NUHS.
Through NGEMR, the entire patient journey across different care settings is recorded, enabling patient-centric care and seamless care transition. NGEMR also supports clinical decision with its intelligent alerts and data analytical capabilities. The aggregation of data translates to insights for medical education, research and population management to achieve better health outcomes.
